We have a new family member!!

I can't imagine what we where thinking.

The kids have been asking for a dog for a long time now.

Well -- we did it.

He's a little camera shy.

He is a cocker spaniel/springer spaniel cross.

And he can read!!

He knows that is his bed.

Pretty smart, eh!

Napkins from Russia

I just wanted to show you these.
They are napkins that belonged to my great grandmother.
She emigrated to Canada from Russia in 1925.

Take note of the monogram.

It was hand done by her maids.

It is hard to see in the picture but it is quite raised.

Beautifully done.

My machine cannot do a monogram as nice as this!

Also, the hem stitching is just beautifull.

They are made of a very heavy linen.
