More sleepwear

Here is the next pattern I sewed.
I made a few changes.

I made the yoke double
and did a small embroidery on it.
Then I bound the armhole with bias strips.
The pattern had lace on the neck and armhole edges.
But lace can be itchy sometimes.

Here is a close up of the yoke and embroidery.
Can you see it?

Ok, I think it is time to do some clean ups in the sewing room
before I start my next project.

Sleepwear

The kids are in need to sleep wear.
So thought I would keep it simple and used this Kwik Sew pattern.

I made this one.
The neck hole is a little too large
so you get that off the shoulder look
when wearing it.
The kids don't really like that.
Hmmm.  What to do next?

I am also still working on a smocking project.
The smocking is done.
 Just gotta sew it up.

Oh, thought I would show you my new embroidery scissors.
They are so cute!!
At half price, I could not resist them.

Fathers Day

Our house backs the school.
Makes it easy to send the kids to school which I really appreciate
because I don't have to drive them every day.
The grade 3 class has a special Fathers Day project.
They are making tye dye t-shirts for their dad and one for them self.
My grandson, Jacob, is in the grade 3 class.
So when I went out on the deck about mid morning
this is what I saw.
The t-shirts hanging on the fence to dry.
They are so colorful I thought I would share them with you.
What a great idea for Fathers Day.

What I have been doing.

I finished!!
This is just a sampling of the bags I made.
I have been sewing personalized lunch bags for a friend.
She likes to give them as teacher gifts at the end of the school year.
They are big enough to hold your tupperware or
rubbermaid containers as well as a juice box.
Easy to clean - just throw in the washing machine.
Easy to store - they fold up so you can keep
them in your linens drawer.
The kids love to see their names on them.

Pillowcases

I made some pillowcases for my daughter for her birthday.
They are white with white embroidery.
Can you see them?
They really are quite pretty.

Now I am working on personalized/embroidered lunch bags
for a friend in Vancouver.
I finished all the embroidery yesterday.
Just have to get them sewn together and sent off to her.

Spiderman

My daughter and I went shopping for fabric and patterns
to make Rebecca some body suits for gymnastics.
Christian came with us because he is only 4.
He did not want to go it the fabric store.
He was making a fuss and giving us pouty face.
But then he found some Spiderman fabric.
We left the store with him clutching his fabric.
So now he has Spiderman pjs.

Mothers Day Gift

Guess what I got for Mothers Day?
Pretty nice, eh!
I must have been really good to get this
from my kids.
Wow!!  Now I don't have to work on my little laptop anymore
and squint at the screen.
It's an all in one touch screen with a 23" screen.
I still have a lot of files and stuff to move.

I have also started working on a project.
see below

So my sewing room has been a mess.
I can't work in it when in gets bad.
I spent the weekend re-organizing and
cleaning it.
I think it will work better now.
I just hope I can work better in it.
