Smocking

I had decided to start a smocking project.  Needed something to do while watching TV in the evenings.  This is the "Enchated" pattern by Annastazia Cruz.  I made it in a size 6.  I haven't done any smocking for a couple of years so I really enjoyed it.  The trouble with finishing a project is that you have to think about what to do next.

Sleepwear

Smocked nightie I made for my granddaughter's birthday.
It is a girls size 10 and
made out of cotton lawn print.
I actually started it last year.
Kinda slow!!

I edged the sleeves and hem with eyelet trim.

And a close-up of the smocking.
(not my best work)

Smocking

I finally got pictures uploaded.
This is a size 8 top from issue 92 of
Australian Smocking and Embroidery.
I may have to make 2 more cause I have
2 more granddaughters to sew for.

I made it out of a poly/cotton because my
daughter does not have much time to iron.
This was a fabric from my stash purchased
at Wallmart quite a long time ago.
They used to carry some very nice poly/cottons.
Now days it is very difficult to find nice poly/cottons
which is to bad.
It's a good thing I still have a small stash!!

I am back.

I think I am back.
I got some new magazines!!
I love magazines.
And this is one of my favorites.
There where a few projects for older girls so I was excited about that.
All my girls are in a size 8 or bigger.
That's to bad cause there are such cute projects for the little ones.

I am working on a project.
This is it.
The smocking is done.
Just need to sew it together now.
I will post it soon!!

Smocking from Fllikr

So I have not posted anything in a while.
I guess I have been busy counting the days until we leave.
We are at 16 now.
I have one small sewing project to finish and then I am packing up my machines.

I love smocking and dolls.
I found these on flickr and thought I would share them.
This gal has some beautiful dolls.
I would love to translate some of her outfits into little girls outfits.

Smocking Project

This is the dress that does not fit anyone. Can't imagine what I was thinking when I cut it. But I think it looks cute on the hanger. So I guess it is just a picture dress! I used a McCalls pattern I had never used before. That was not a good idea. Oh well! On to my next project.
