I made this skirt/skort for Jessica. I am trying to get into the swing of sewing here. This is one of the poly/cotton fabrics I ordered from Fabric.com. I wasn't all that keen on the print when I got it but it looks quite cute in this skirt. Now I had better make one for Ethany too. What Jessica gets Ethany wants. Go figure. Well I guess it is only fair.

What I did this past week
Summer is coming so thought I would make some shorts for the girls. This is the results. I used the ruffler attachment I purchased for my machine for the first time. Once you get on to it, it works pretty good. The ruffles are like little pleats and I rather the look of it. I have to remember to move my needle over other wise I get a broken needle!! Well it was time to change the needle anyway.

Skort
Summer is coming and the girls have been growing and Kevin has been complaining about the need to buy them new clothes. They need new stuff for summer like skorts and shorts and capri;s. So I needed to trace a larger size skort pattern. I don't like to use cotton because of the need to iron and most of my stash is cotton. I did have this one piece of cotton blend so I sewed it up into this skort. I lined the skirt in mauve gingham. Now they will need some t-shirts to match.
